FAQ

How do you photograph Baptism's?

When planning a Baptism, it can be very stressful. After months of planning and the day arrives, you are getting ready and may forget important things. Before the day, I'll give you a list of things to have out for me to photograph upon arrival; these are usually the things that need to come to the church. Once I have photographed the items, I'll lay the clothing out ready for your family to dress the baby. There is no need to stress if you have it all there because I have a checklist in my head and will ask if I see anything missing.

Once I have finished shooting the little details, I call the family in to dress the baby. I'll guide you to the best light so you can begin to get the baby ready. Once dressed, we will do the official formal photos with the family members, baby, on their own and with any siblings, parents, grandparents, godparents etc. Once finished, we move to the church.

On arrival at the church, I like to capture another family photo because, by this point, most babies have had enough and are very tired and begin to get unsettled. If you're only booking me for the church, I'll ask you to arrive a little earlier and bring any special items such as jewellery, candle, bib, outfit, to photograph. Church photography is capturing the moments as they happen; there are very few posed images here. Once the ceremony is over, I take some family photos; this can be at the church or the reception venue.

I can help you along the way and even with the day's timeline! Just ask.

Where are you based and do you travel?

I am based in Mawson Lakes, I travel to the desired location within 20km of my location, after this I do charge a travel fee of $30 plus depending on the location.

Please contact me for further information regarding the fees as they can vary.

When will we get our photos?

You will receive an online gallery link with all your photos within a maximum of 2-4 weeks (sometimes less depending on the season). You can download all the photos from the gallery but also share them, choose your favourites, and also order prints!

How many photos will we receive?

For a 3 hours coverage Christening, you will receive between 200 to 400 fully edited images. I always choose quality rather than quantity, I will choose the best and more significant photos to tell your story.

Newborn and Family photography packages come with two options. Option one is all images from the session are included and option 2 is 10 images from the session.

Option one is the best value for money.

What to wear

The most asked question! Outfit selections for family sessions are like colour selections when building a house. Each outfit needs to complement the other, chose colours that marry together and aren't too matchy, matchy. It's also a good idea to think about your home decor and the feeling you would like the portrait to give. I have some colour themes that may help you decide on what best suits your home and family. Avoiding busy patterns and bold writing is also a great idea.
